Dairy Free Carmel Apples

Ingredients: 1/4 cup ghee /margerine 1 cup maple (or brown) sugar 1/4 cup brown rice syrup 1/2 tsp allergy-free vanilla 1/4 cup coconut milk 5 or 6 tart apples (with sticks) 1. In medium saucepan, melt ghee. 2. Stir in sugar, syrup, vanilla and milk. 3. Bring mixture to a boil and keep boiling for about several minutes until a candy thermometer reads 245 F. 4. Remove caramel from heat. Put a Popsicle stick in the center of each apple.

Almond Glaze

Ingredients: 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar (Sometimes powdered sugar is cut with cornstarch- you can make your own by whizzing regular sugar in a blender.) splash of pure almond extract (about 1/4 teaspoon,make sure it is allergen free) 2 Tablespoons of rice milk, more as needed to create desired thickness Combine all ingredients and whisk until smooth.

Ham on a Stick

Ingredients: One batch of Ozma’s biscuits, rolled into 6 breadsticks instead, and baked (or other allergen free breadsticks) Mustard (we like Annie’s naturals brand) Mayonnaise (Spectrum brand for us) 6 thin slices of “clean” ham (Applegate farms brand is the choice of kings*) Spread mustard and mayo on the ham slices. Real Pie Pastry

When I say real, I mean it is not gritty, it stays together, it is flaky and good. You would not know it was gluten free. It tastes and acts like the real thing! Pie Crust

Ingredients: 1 cup Ozma Mix (an easy baking mix you can make yourself. Get the recipe here.) 1/4 cup Ghee (or coconut oil) 2 tablespoons boiling water Mix together Ozma Mix and ghee/oil in medium mixing bowl. Add boiling water and stir quickly until you get a soft dough. Press into a 9-inch pie pan (rolling between plastic wrap will help prevent sticking). Put in freezer for 15 min. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 min, or until golden brown.
